PPlay Money Sportsbook

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions players ask most.

Is this real gambling?

No. You bet with free credits that have no cash value. There is nothing to buy, no way to deposit money, and nothing of real-world value to win. It's a game for bragging rights.

Does it cost anything?

No. Play Money Sportsbook is free, and credits cannot be purchased.

Can I win money or prizes?

No. Credits can't be withdrawn or exchanged for money, gift cards, merchandise or anything else.

Who can play?

Adults 21 and over. You need a Google account to sign in.

Where do the odds come from?

From a real US sportsbook, through an odds data provider. They're refreshed several times a day, so they can lag behind the live market by a few hours, especially early in the week.

What happens if I run out of credits?

Every active account gets 1,000 free credits each Tuesday morning, so you'll be back in the game by the next set of games at the latest.

When do my bets settle?

Automatically, usually within an hour or two of the game ending. Winnings go straight into your balance. If you've turned on notifications, you'll get a message when it happens.

Can I bet while a game is being played?

No. Betting on a game closes at kickoff. Live betting isn't available.

Why did my bet slip say the odds changed?

The line moved between you adding the pick and placing the bet. The site shows you the new price before accepting anything, so you can decide whether you still want it.

Why can't I put two picks from the same game in a parlay?

Picks from the same game are often linked: if a team wins big, the game is more likely to go over the total, too. Pricing those combinations fairly needs special handling, so for now a parlay takes one pick per game. You can still place them as separate single bets.

What is cash out?

A way to settle a bet early. Until the first game on a ticket kicks off, you can cash it out from My Bets for its current value, which is usually a little less than your stake.

What is a push?

A tie between you and the house, such as a 7-point favorite winning by exactly 7. Your stake is returned. In a parlay, the pushed pick is dropped and the rest of the ticket stands.

How do the leaderboards work?

There are boards for profit, return, win rate and biggest win, each for the current week and the whole season. Only settled bets count, and the free weekly credits don't. The how to play page has the details.

Can other people see my bets?

By default, yes: your profile shows your stats and recent bets. You can make it private from your profile page. Your username, record and rank still appear on leaderboards. Your email address is never shown.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. The site works in any phone browser, and you can add it to your Home Screen to use it like an app. On an iPhone, use Safari's Share button and choose Add to Home Screen.

Are other sports coming?

The site covers the NFL today. More sports and more bet types, such as player props, are planned.

How do I delete my account?

Email garrettpolodna@gmail.com from the address you sign in with. The privacy policy explains what's stored and how deletion works.

I think a bet was graded wrong. What do I do?

Email garrettpolodna@gmail.com with your username and the game. Results come from a data feed and are occasionally wrong; when that happens, bets are regraded and balances corrected.
